For the Grit map While the visual shader for the target's screen was created by the talented Eldar Kagaru, and the mesh itself been provided by the environment team, my primary responsibility was to build the interactive systems that powered it.
My contributions included:
- Gameplay Integration: Implemented the logic to detect player shots and communicate with the target.
- Scoring System: Defined multiple physical hit zones on the target mesh, each awarding a different point value, providing skill-based feedback to the player.
- Dynamic State Management: Created a system for the score to reset automatically after a configurable cooldown period, making the target reusable for continuous practice.
- Visual Feedback: Added a randomized chance for triggering a visual "glitch" to play on the target's screen upon a hit.
